STAGE DIRECTIONS
By Israel Horovitz
Director: Cosmin Chivu
With Dena Tyler, Melanie Hewett, Marcus Jones.
Three upper-class Jewish siblings return from the grave, after a family funeral of their parents. Unable to communicate directly to each other in words, they interact by describing their movements in the room via the stage directions, which are normally meant to be unheard by the audience. The deeper truth of each character becomes eloquently clear and effective. The play was produced by Delancey Theater Collective’s Festival of Short plays in May 2003.
